Ua a‘o ‘ia ‘o ia e ia centers on the ongoing multi-faceted research series A Record of Drifting Across the Sea, which artist Sung Hwan Kim began in 2017. Building upon the multilayered and complex issues regarding knowledge—such as boundaries, tradition, documentation, history, the flow of knowledge, and its ownership and circulation—that were organized through previous exhibitions, the project deepens and expands these themes using the book as a medium. "Ua a‘o" is both an artistic space and a work of art that weaves together the artist’s expanded artistic reflections, mediated by the exhibition, and the events that arose during this journey, thereby establishing new connections.
